Websites to Make Your Morning

There are mornings that start off badly. I'm talking about those mornings you wake up late because you slept through your alarm. The mornings you're late and you run later because the person in front of you tries to pay their train fare in Sacagawea coins. Or how, morning after morning, your Starbucks barista can't understand that you're happy about the prospect of coffee, not conversation, and that you'd rather not discuss whether your last name sounds more Portuguese or Scandinavian. On these mornings, I take to the internet for a quick laugh and the comfort of delighting in absurdities other than my own.

Check out two of my favorite (and highest rated) humor websites:

1. Cracked.com: Launched in 2007, Cracked.com is the most visited humor site in the world with 300 million monthly page views. The site features articles, blogs, videos, community forums, and four weekly Image Manipulation contests called Photoplasty. I recommend "The 4 Weirdest Lessons '80's Movies Really Wanted to Teach Us," "10 Baffling Romance Tips from the Sociopaths at Fox News," or "4 Ridiculous Things No One Tells You About Being an Adult," to name a few.

2. Theonion.com: The Onion hails itself as "America's Finest News Source," commenting on both real and fictional current events with satirical prowess. With a print circulation of 400,000 and 7.5 million unique visitors per month, the editors of The Onion are on point. "God Admits Humans Not Most Impressive Creation,""Captain Actual America: Overweight, Hopelessly In Debt," and "Katie Holmes Glad She Can Finally Practice Scientology In Peace," to name a few recent headlines.
